Riëd Structural Adhesives introduces Plastgrip® 6124, a high-performance two-component epoxy designed to replace conventional tin soldering. The epoxy is designed for simple and economical use, with rapid curing and can be sanded and spread with ease. Unlike traditional tin soldering, Plastgrip® 6124 does not require an open flame or external heat to cure quickly.
The Plastgrip® 6124 is suitable for all bodywork repairs on cars and trucks. It has excellent adhesion to metals such as steel, stainless steel and aluminium. It is filled in a convenient Utah cartridge, with two components in a single tube, so that the cartridge can be processed with a standard caulking gun. Unlike similar products on the market, Plastgrip® 6124 can be applied with ease from the cartridge, eliminating the risk of product soiling.
The putty has an open time of 25 minutes and can be sanded after only 2.5 hours at room temperature. With the use of an infrared lamp at 40°C, the hardening process can be accelerated and can be sanded after only 20 minutes. This saves time and money for the body shop. Plastgrip® 6124 is available in 195-millilitre cartridges.
